Radical fix proposed to ease teacher shortages

Author and wordsmith Kel Richards says he believes a new proposal to ease teacher shortages by recruiting more university-educated workers to teach school students has “potential”.

The Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership has proposed a plan to ease teacher shortages by recruiting university-educated workers to teach school students, according to The Australian. The participants of the program would be able to earn money while acquiring their masters degree in education.

“I think this is a good idea, it’s got potential – give it a go,” Mr Richards told Sky News host Jenna Clarke.
