Dempster Park Tennis has received $408,318 to construct a new inviting, safe accessible and female-friendly facility with construction set og begin later this year.
Half of the money for the project was funded by a Victorian state government grant with $204,159 while council funded $135,000, $59,159 from North Sunshine Tennis Club and a federal government grant of $10,000.
Upgrades will include an extension to create two new female-friendly change rooms, an improved kitchen and kiosk, with construction is set for completion by June 2023.
They will also have a new, externally accessible, Disability Discrimination Act compliant (DDA) toilet facility, and the installation of Tennis Australia’s ‘Book a Court’ system.
