A remarkable second-half turnaround has kept Richmond’s finals hopes alive as Damien Hardwick’s men made crucial mid-game tweaks to overwhelm a North Melbourne outfit now favoured to ‘win’ the wooden spoon.
The Tigers looked a shadow of themselves in the first half and seemed destined for a seventh loss in eight games as the Kangaroos skipped out to a 26-point lead at half-time.
But a blistering final two quarters from the Tigers, including a scintillaing seven-goal third term performance, helped save their season, eventually running out 33-point winners, 13.11 (89) to 8.8 (56), at the MCG.
