Erik ten Hag’s men signed off for the break with a 2-1 win over Brentford, with Scott McTominay’s late rescue act saving the Reds from a seventh defeat in 11 games. While the three points were badly needed, everyone connected with the club is under no illusions as to how far off the pace the team have been so far this season.
