Carlton coach David Teague has all but conceded he’ll be sacked on Monday, thanking those who have backed him in across his tenure and labelling much of the media coverage around his role and the side’s season unfair.
The Blues went down to Greater Western Sydney by 14 points on Saturday night in the final AFL game for both Eddie Betts and Levi Casboult, with the side to finish the season in 13th spot on the ladder after their 11th-placed finish in 2020.
With Carlton’s season now over, the club board is expected to ramp up its actions in addressing a recently tabled external review into the football department – something Teague admitted would likely bring his time at the club to an end.
