The release of Colin Carter’s report surrounding Tasmania’s bid to enter the AFL has been met with criticism from the football world.
AFL chief Gillon McLachlan addressed the report to media on Friday – which recommended that Tasmania deserves a team through one of three options: a 19th license, relocating a team from Victoria or a joint venture – but with no definite plan.

The response has been emphatic that Tasmania deserves its own team – not formed through a relocation or joint venture.
Tasmanian premier Peter Gutwein threatened to ban the AFL from the state next year in a furious response.
“That immediate response from them I don‘t think is good enough,” Gutwein said.
