Ross Lyon has pulled out of the race for the vacant Carlton coaching role, reports The Age.
The former St Kilda and Fremantle coach, who was the favourite for the Blues opening after David Teague’s sacking, reportedly called the club’s new president Luke Sayers on Thursday to inform him of the news.
Lyon hinted on Channel 9’s Footy Classified on Wednesday night that he may not be willing to go through a selection process for the role as veteran journalist Caroline Wilson revealed that Brad Scott had emerged as a contender.
