Indian batsman Virat Kohli has moved up to the seventh position in the ICC rankings for batters after his impressive knock of 85 in India’s World Cup win over Australia. Kohli came in to bat with India in a difficult position, but he played a gritty innings and formed a match-winning partnership of 165 runs with KL Rahul. Rahul, who scored an unbeaten 97 in the same match, also moved up in the rankings to the 19th spot. South Africa’s Aiden Markram, who holds the record for the fastest century in World Cup history, climbed up to the 21st position. However, it is worth noting that the ICC rankings did not take into account Kohli’s performance in the recent match at the time of the release.
