Australia has sensationally thrown away the first T20 to the West Indies, failing to chase down 6-145 having been at 4-108 with nearly 10 overs remaining.
Aaron Finch won the toss in St Lucia and sent in the West Indies, who were restricted to the middling total after Josh Hazlewood took stunning figures of 3-12 from four overs.
Australia looked to be in complete control in the chase, reaching 4-108 after 10.2 overs.
But the regular wickets were a concern that grew into a nightmare as suddenly, the Australian chase went into free fall.
Australia lost 6-19, including topscorer Mitch Marsh for 51 runs off 31 balls, to comfortably lose by 18 runs with four overs remaining.
