The University of Louisville is heading up to New York City to play in the Empire Classic benefitting Wounded Warrior Project this year.UofL will be playing the University of Texas on Nov. 19 in the first round of the event. The games will be played at Madison Square Garden.The winner will go on to face the winner between the University of Connecticut and Indiana University on Nov. 20.Louisville hasn’t faced Texas since they beat the Longhorns in the 1997 NCAA East Regional 78-63. The Cardinals are 4-1 against Texas all-time.This is Louisville’s first time competing in the Empire Classic, while Texas is making its seventh appearance, the most of any school.Tickets for the games are on sale here.UofL is now heading into the season down one of its top players, as Trentyn Flowers announced he would be leaving the program on Monday to play professionally in Australia.
