Australian LIV Golf recruits Matt Jones and Jed Morgan will get to defend their Australian Open and PGA titles this summer after a decision by the DP World Tour to allow defectors to play in co-sanctioned events.
But Jones was among a raft of high-profile LIV recruits removed from eligibility for the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup playoffs despite being inside the top 125 after a new “eligibility points list” was approved by officials in the US on the back of their suspension of LIV players.
The Australian Open will return to the calendar for the first time since 2019 when both the men’s and women’s events are contested on the same course at the same time at Victoria Golf Club in December. The Australian PGA will be played the week before in Brisbane.
