The BBL and WBBL Overseas Player Drafts have been confirmed for Sunday, September 3, with Cricket Australia unveiling the order the selections for the two events.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural BBL Draft, the concept has been introduced for the corresponding women’s competition ahead of its ninth edition.
The order of selections for both Drafts has been determined by a weighted lottery, where clubs that missed out on finals last season were drawn earlier. The Melbourne Stars received Pick 1 for the BBL Draft, while the Sydney Thunder were drawn first in the women’s competition.
The Drafts will feature four rounds, each with differing categories of players for the clubs to choose from:
Round 1 – Platinum only
Round 2 – Platinum and Gold
Round 3 – Gold and Silver
Round 4 – Silver and Bronze
