Aryna Sabalenka has gone back-to-back at the Australian Open, thumping slam final debutant Zheng Qinwen 6-3 6-2 to claim the women’s singles title.

Needing just 76 minutes, the Belarusian looked a class above her young Chinese opponent, who is viewed as a future star but had set a record by not playing a top-50 opponent on route to the final.

Sabalenka becomes the first woman to win consecutive Australian Opens since compatriot Victoria Azarenka (2012, 2013), who also beat a Chinese player (Li Na) for her second title.
