A remarkable 24 Americans made it through to the second round of the 2023 Australian Open – that’s almost one-in-five players left in the tournament.
Eight of them have already advanced into the third round, while another 14 could yet join them (as of late Thursday morning). If everything goes right, that’d mean 22 of the 64 players left in the tournament are American.
