While the final grand slam event of the season is contested in New York, there are two significant junior tournaments being held in Quebec this week: the Repentigny National Bank Junior Tennis Championships and the U14 Fischer Outdoor National Championships in Laval.
Some of the best junior players in the world are getting their final U.S. Open preparations taken care of in Repentigny at the always popular J300 ITF event. In the boys’ singles draw, world no. 9 Iliyan Radulov of Bulgaria (no. 1), Austrian Joel Schwaerzler (no. 2), and Italy’s Federico Cina (no. 3) are the top 3 seeds. Meanwhile, Canadians Mikael Arseneault, Matthias Uwe Kask, and Junghee You have all advanced to the second round.
