Former Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann is to take the job at the Germany national team until their home Euro 2024, according to the Bild newspaper.
According to the report, Nagelsmann and the German Football Federation (DFB) have reached an agreement but a few details are yet to be discussed.
The DFB said president Bernd Neuendorf and Germany team director Rudi Voller had a first meeting with Nagelsmann on Tuesday.
“We are in good talks,” Neuendorf said.
Germany are under pressure to find a new coach after Hansi Flick was sacked on September 10 after poor performances of the team with five games without victory, including four defeats.
Under Flick, Germany also suffered a second consecutive group stage exit at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
