Wallabies star to fight sex assault allegations

Rugby union star Kurtley Beale will fight allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman at a Bondi pub last year.

Mr Beale’s solicitor Lauren McDougall appeared on Mr Beale’s behalf at Waverley Local Court on Wednesday.

The Wallabies and Waratahs outside back was in January granted bail after being charged over an alleged sexual assault at a Bondi pub late last year.

The 34-year-old was not present in court on Wednesday when the matter was adjourned for two months for charge certification.

Outside court, Ms McDougall said Mr Beale intended to plead not guilty and fight the allegations.

Mr Beale was arrested after being stopped by police in his car at Kingsford, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs in January.
