Wallabies squad, first training camp before Rugby World Cup, Eddie Jones, reaction, full list

New Wallabies coach Eddie Jones has pulled a few surprise selection calls as he announced the squad for the first camp in the lead up to the Rugby World Cup.

NRL convert and Reds winger Suliasi Vunivalu has been given the opportunity to impress, having previously been overlooked by former Wallabies coach Dave Rennie.

Meanwhile, the biggest casualties to miss out on selection for the first training camp include young playmakers Noah Lolesio and Tate McDermott, while Waratahs captain Jake Gordon also missed out.

Elsewhere, teenage back Max Jorgensen has been given a big tick of approval from Jones after gaining a spot in the squad in what is his first season of Super Rugby.

Tom Lynagh was also poised to figure in the squad but was unavailable due to injury along with five other players.
