Maroons prop Shannon Mato is facing a 1-2 match ban or a $400 fine after she was charged with a Grade One Contrary Conduct offence in her side’s Game Two win over the Sky Blues.
Mato was named player of the match in Queensland’s 11-10 win, which kept the series alive after a late Lauren Brown field goal, but she was placed on report after pulling Yasmin Clydsdale by her ponytail in a first half tackle.
The Grade 1 Contrary Conduct charge carries a one-match ban with an early plea but Mato has the option of paying a $400 fine instead of the suspension.
Mato would face a two-match ban if she unsuccessfully challenges the charge at the judiciary.
Corban Baxter and Zahara Temara were given official warnings from the opening State of Origin match.
