The outside noise has been deafening but the Rabbitohs have vowed to move on from a week of negative headlines, with star five-eighth Cody Walker laughing off suggestions that he and Latrell Mitchell get preferential treatment from the club.
That allegation was reportedly at the heart of the club’s decision to part ways with legend Sam Burgess, who will move to the UK soon to take over as Warrington coach in 2024.
The former assistant coach was reportedly unhappy with how the dynamic duo were treated differently to other players, but Walker insists that’s not the case.
“Definitely not,” he said.
“It does (annoy me) a little bit. I can’t control the external noise that’s coming out. I just want to get out and play footy.”
Rumours of a falling out between Burgess and Walker have also been suggested, but the Blues No.6 says that’s simply not true.
