Panthers star Jarome Luai might be a self confessed NRL ‘bad guy’, but he has shown his softer side in heartwarming scenes after Penrith’s incredible grand final win.

The Panthers’ chances of an NRL premiership three-peat looked over when the Broncos shot out to a 24-8 lead in the second half with Luai on the bench battling a shoulder injury, however a Nathan Cleary masterclass brought them back to life and ultimately a grand final win.

Luai has become an inspiration for young Panthers fan Nicholas Tadros, who was left fighting for life after a helicopter crash near Sea World on the Gold Coast last January.

Tadros’ right leg was amputated after the accident that claimed the life of his mother and three others.
