Bulldogs lash league over NRLW expansion delay

Clubs vying for entry into the NRLW are growing frustrated over being kept in the dark on expansion plans with Bulldogs CEO Aaron Warburton declaring the club was ready ‘yesterday’.

Turns out, Justin Horo, Josh Reynolds and Jordan Simi are big Taylor Swift fans and believe she could help the NRL in Australia.

NRLW expansion is set to be high on the agenda when the ARL Commission meets on February 21, when it is expected the addition of two new licences will be given the green light.

Canterbury, New Zealand Warriors and South Sydney all submitted an expression of interest to join the NRLW in late August last year.

At the time, the NRL told clubs it would consider proposals for entry in 2024 with the Bulldogs one of the clubs prepared to join the 10-team competition immediately.

The NRL opted not to push forward with expansion for 2024, preferring to wait until 2025 before growing the competition.
