Marika Koroibete awarded 2022 John Eales Medal, voting process, Wallabies news, latest, updates

Wallabies winger Marika Koroibete has taken out the ultimate gong in Australian rugby after being named the 2022 John Eales Medal.

It is the second time Koroibete has been awarded the accolade having accomplished the feat in 2020.

Koroibete now joins George Smith, Nathan Sharpe, Michael Hooper, Israel Folau and David Pocock in the elite group of Wallabies to have won the John Eales medal on multiple occasions.

The 30-year-old received 202 votes for the award and beat out Rob Valentini (170 votes) and Allan Alaalatoa (168).

With the medal voted on by the players, Koroibete was extremely grateful for the support he received from his peers.
