Tiger Woods withdraws, quits, what happened; final round, video, news

It shouldn’t come as a surprise, but Tiger Woods withdrew from the Masters Monday morning before he was to resume the competition of his third round.

When play was suspended because of weather on Saturday, Woods looked like he was struggling to walk because of his surgically repaired right leg that was badly injured in his 2021 car crash.

Woods, 47, made the 36-hole cut despite bogeying the last two holes in poor weather conditions on Saturday morning, tying the record of Gary Player and Fred Couples for 23 consecutive made cuts at the tournament.

The record dates back to his 1997 Masters victory, the first of five wins at Augusta National.

Woods was playing his 25th Masters and the only time he missed the cut was in 1996 as an amateur.
