Cameron Smith has confirmed he will return to Australia over summer to defend his Australian PGA title and has set his sights on a maiden Australian Open win.

Golf: Cameron Smith has produced the biggest ever winning margin in LIV Golf, leading Team Ripper GC to their first victory in the process.

Smith, a three-time Australian PGA winner, has been a multiple victor on the LIV Tour this year but is yet to get his hands on the Stonehaven Cup.

He is hoping that will change in December when he returns to Sydney to play the Open, which will be shared between The Australian Golf Club and The Lakes.

Smith’s best result at the Open was a playoff loss to American Jordan Spieth in 2016.

“That is probably No. 1 for things I want to win, definitely in the next four months,’ Smith said of the Open.
