LIVE: The first two rounds of the PGA Championship were tough going. The third is simply brutal, as rain drenched the players in torrid conditions at Oak Hill.
Currently, just nine players are even-par or better for the tournament! Even making par for the round was a success for those gutsy enough to fight through the dreary conditions.
Former world number one Justin Thomas, a two-time PGA Championship winner (2017, 2022), hit a five-over par 75 to sit 10-over. LIV chief, the great Phil Mickelson, was exactly the same, showing jhust how tough the going was at the year’s second major.
But Australia’s Cam Davis is making an impressive run, currently one-under through 16 to sit even-par overall and in ninth. He has just one bogey so far, on the horribly difficult sixth, but pulled two shots back with birdies on the 14th and 16th.
