Scottie Scheffler is the world No.1 again, defending his crown at the WM Phoenix Open to regain the top position from Rory McIlroy.
The 26-year-old outlasted Canadian Nick Taylor in a back-nine shootout on Monday (AEDT), with a clinical eagle at the 13th and a clutch par-save on the stadium hole 16th proving to be the decisive blows.
Scheffler missed the 16th green and his chip ran long, but he drained a 15-foot par-putt to heap pressure on Taylor. Taylor then pushed his own attempt at a par-save to all-but seal the result.

Scheffler then aded another birdie at the 17th to make sure of the victory, finishing on 19-under to claim a two-shot victory.
