Australia’s Jason Day remains firmly in the hunt at the $20m USD Genesis Invitational thanks to a clutch eagle on the 17th hole to save his third round as he remains just four strokes off the leader Patrick Cantlay.
Day’s round began poorly with a bogey on the second, before an exceptional tee shot on the par-three sixth set up a birdie.

He found the green-side bunker off the tee on 10 but made birdie for the third consecutive round on the par-four hole, and backed it up on 11 with a third birdie to move to two-under for the round and 10-under overall.
But his hard work quickly came undone by back-to-back bogeys on the 15th and 16th that left him at even-par and sliding out of contention.
