Trade news, Sean Darcy to Geelong, Fremantle contract, restricted free agent, Luke Jackson, salary cap, latest

Geelong has reportedly offered Fremantle ruckman Sean Darcy $1 million per season over five years in a bid to land the 24-year-old.

Darcy is a restricted free agent at the end of 2024 and the Cats have shown interest in the former Geelong Falcons product.

The West Australian reports that, while the reigning premiers have offered Darcy a lucrative deal, the Dockers could be on the verge of re-signing him on a long-term contract in order to thwart rival bidders.

The report adds Darcy is currently believed to be on a salary between $650,000 and $700,000.

Fremantle will likely have more money in its salary cap now after re-signing veterans Nat Fyfe and Michael Walters on more modest deals.
