Ange Postecoglou is laying the foundations for sustainable success at Tottenham and it seems like new signing Timo Werner wants to be a part of it for the long-term.
That is according to Sky Sports transfer insider Florian Plettenberg, who reported on Wednesday that Werner “feels very comfortable” at Spurs and wants his loan to the club to be made into a permanent move.
It could only cost Tottenham around 17 million euros ($28M) too according to Plettenberg, although the Spurs have until the start of the European Championship on June 14 to make it happen with RB Leipzig.
Spurs can still strike a deal to sign Werner permanently beyond that date but risk rival clubs entering the picture, which in turn could drive up the forward’s asking price.
Plettenberg reported that if Tottenham does not permanently sign Werner he is still “very open” to leaving Leipzig in the summer.
