Less than a month after guiding Melbourne Victory to the A-League grand final, Tony Popovic has parted ways with the club, and there is a title-winning mentor waiting in the wings to replace him.
Central Coast Mariners fans have lost their minds after the former laughing stock pulled off an achievement no other Australian team has ever achieved.
The Victory announced on Wednesday that Popovic had left the club after three seasons at the helm.
Speculation had been rife for the past couple of months that Popovic was set to depart due to a standoff between him and Victory over terms of a potential new coaching deal.
