Collingwood’s new recruit, Lachie Schultz, has expressed that he has no issue with the training surface at Victoria Park, despite two of his teammates sustaining injuries. Pat Lipinski, a Premiership Magpie, suffered a rolled ankle during a drill, just days after key forward Dan McStay suffered a season-ending ACL tear during training. McStay had only recently returned to training after recovering from a previous knee injury that had ruled him out of the grand final. Collingwood will continue to train at Victoria Park until after Christmas while resurfacing works are completed at their regular home base, Olympic Park. Lipinski’s ankle injury occurred as he was training, and the team is taking steps to ensure his recovery.
