Australian men’s cricket coach Andrew McDonald wound back the clock over the weekend, making a cameo appearance for Geelong West’s fifth grade side.
The 42-year-old, who represented Australia in four Tests in 2009, played against South Barwon at South Barwon Reserve on Saturday, as first reported by the Geelong Advertiser.
Listed as “fill in” on the official scorecard, McDonald walked out to bat at No. 5, scoring 62 as the Rams posted 290 in the first innings. He was dismissed by Jye Walters in the 40th over, with Geelong West ultimately cruising towards a 181-run victory.
