Following the wild end to the NBL23 regular season and the awards night on Tuesday, the finals now get underway on Thursday with the season to end for either the South East Melbourne Phoenix or Perth Wildcats while one of the Cairns Taipans or Tasmania JackJumpers will advance to the semi finals.
The Sydney Kings and New Zealand Breakers are sitting back waiting to find out who they will face in the NBL semi finals after finishing the regular season in first and second position.
While the Taipans and JackJumpers had already secured their spots in the finals as well heading into Sunday, it took until the very last second of the regular season for the Wildcats to claim sixth position ahead of Melbourne United, with the Phoenix staying in fifth spot.
