The end is here. Technically, there are two more weeks left, but the NBA regular season is nearing a conclusion, and for Detroit Pistons fans, that means the end of a miserable season.
At this point, Detroit is racing against itself. It needs three more wins in its final eight games to tie the worst record in franchise history, and four more wins just to avoid it and tie last year’s NBA-worst record. No matter which happens or however you slice it, a season that was supposed to have the Pistons playing competitive basketball until the end of the regular season, came and went during a historic losing streak in December.
I haven’t done a mailbag in a while, and with the season coming to a close, a big summer ahead and many questions flying my way daily, I decided to put together a two-part mailbag to start to put a bow on Detroit’s season. Part 2 will be out Wednesday.
