An iconic photo of LeBron James breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s NBA scoring record is blowing the minds of sports fans around the world – but it’s got nothing to do with King James’ perfect fadeaway technique.
Instead eagle-eyed fans quickly drew everyone’s attention to a man sitting in the front-row, seemingly the only fan in Crypto.com Arena who was witnessing the historic moment with their own two eyes rather than through their smartphone.
But that man in the front wasn’t just any fan – upon closer inspection it was revealed the attentive fan was in fact Nike founder Phil Knight, sitting alongside LeBron’s two sons Bronny and Bryce.
Knight’s relaxed demeanour was in complete contrast to the hundreds of fans around him fighting for the best angle for their video or photo.
