Klay Thompson dropped a season-high 54 points and Kevon Looney made a game-winning tip-in to lead the Golden State Warriors past the Atlanta Hawks 143-141 in double overtime on Tuesday (all times AEDT).
It marked the most points Thompson has scored in a game since his 52-point outing against the Chicago Bulls in 2018, and the most the 32-year old has scored since returning from a myriad of injuries from 2019-2022.
Thompson shot 21-of-39 from the field and sunk 10 three-pointers with seven rebounds, while Looney (14 points, 21 boards), Draymond Green (five points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, two steals, three blocks) and Jordan Poole (28 points, six rebounds, five assists) also turned in big games.
