The New Orleans Pelicans went down to the Miami Heat 100-96 on the road on Monday (all times AEDT) as Dyson Daniels was hit with a brutal five-second violation as part of a crazy end to the game.
With 15 seconds remaining and the Pelicans down two, Daniels looked to inbound the ball before turning to referee Bill Kennedy late in the five-second count to call a timeout.
However Kennedy deemed Daniels’ bid too late, hitting the rookie with the turnover in a dubious decision to give the ball back to Miami – much to the dismay of Pelicans officials including fired up coach Willie Green.
