Dennis Schroder named FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 TISSOT MVP – FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023

MANILA (Philippines) – Dennis Schroder capped his historical run at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 by taking home the TISSOT Most Valuable Player award after guiding Germany to their first ever title.

Schroder tallied 28 points in Germany’s 83-77 win over Serbia in the Final. The team captain scored at least 14 points for the seventh time in eight games. For the tournament, he averaged 19.1 points, 6.1 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game.

Schroder shined throughout the tournament with his biggest highlight being a masterful 30-point, 8-assist showing in Germany’s win over Australia. He also collected 24 points and 10 assists versus Slovenia.

It was the second straight elite performance on the big stage as Schroder was named to the All-Star 5 of the FIBA EuroBasket 2022, where Germany finished third.
