The Dallas Mavericks have taken a monumental swing before next week’s trade deadline, making a move for Brooklyn Nets superstar Kyrie Irving.
The Nets, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania, have traded Irving and Markieff Morris to the Mavericks for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a 2029 unprotected first-round pick, a 2027 second-round pick and a 2029 second-round pick.

The Mavericks were one of five teams linked to Irving when it was first reported that he would be requesting a trade from the Nets, with the Lakers, Heat, Clippers and Suns also expected to show interest in the 30-year-old.
The Lakers were tipped to be frontrunners for Irving with a potential package of Russell Westbrook and the team’s 2027 and 2029 first-round picks.
