Warriors land coaching coup in major NRLW market move

The Warriors have landed the biggest NRLW coach on the market as they prepare to rejoin the competition in 2025.

State or Origin: The Maroons have won the first ever Women’s Origin decider, in front of adoring fans on a rainy night in Townsville.

The former Newcastle coach has signed a multi-year deal with the Warriors from 2025 which is set to be announced in the coming days.

It’s a tremendous coup for the Warriors, putting them at a massive advantage in the market ahead of their reintroduction to the NRLW next season.

They’re one of two teams, along with the Bulldogs, who are part of an expansion of the competition to 12 teams next year.

Griffiths is a highly respected figurehead within the women’s game, having led the Knights to back-to-back premierships in 2022 and 2023 before stepping away to coach the men’s game.

Ben Jeffries has taken over as coach with the Knights, who kick off the NRLW season on July 25 against the Roosters at McDonald Jones Stadium.
