At long last, the controversial Giteau Law is set for a makeover and the borders are likely to be opened to allow for players plying their trade overseas to be selected for the Wallabies.

The flouted eligibility changes — which have yet to be settled on — came less than 24 hours after the Wallabies’ record loss to the All Blacks at Eden Park to lose their 19th straight Bledisloe Cup series.

The decision has been met with mixed reception, with some describing it as the gamble of a lifetime.

Some like Stirling Mortlock have described the decision as “illogical”, with former Wallabies captain agreeing with his old teammate Ben Darwin, who runs an analytics company, that cohesion is more important than any one player or coach.
