Sydney Swans veteran Josh Kennedy to retire from AFL at the end of the 2022 season

Sydney Swans champion Josh Kennedy says he will do everything within his power to play again this season before he officially hangs up the boots.

Kennedy has called time on his illustrious AFL career, just days after suffering another hamstring injury in the Swans’ VFL game against North Melbourne at Arden St Oval.

The 34-year-old midfielder will call it quits at the end of the year, but is hoping to get back to full fitness for one last roll of the dice.

Kennedy faced the media on Tuesday afternoon and said he was desperate to play again “but it’s without expectation”.

“I will do what I can to get back, even just to train amongst the group,” he said.
