Gold Coast expect livewire Izak Rankine to soon follow teammate Jack Lukosius in rejecting offers from AFL rivals to re-sign with the Suns.
Rankine is in the midst of an eye-catching season and coach Stuart Dew is bullish about the South Australian re-committing to Gold Coast.
“We love Izak and he loves us back,” Dew said.
“So that (contract extension) will work itself out, sometimes it’s just getting the details ironed out.
“We’re really confident he is embedded on the Gold Coast and I think we’re really good for him on and off the field.
“We know him really well and we feel like we can support him to be the best footballer that he can be and we look forward to that.”
Rankine comes off-contract at season’s end after being selected by the Suns with pick three at the 2018 draft.
