U15’s and U16’s girls soccer players making a name for themselves in national tournament

The 2024 National Youth Championships Girls’ Tournament for U15 and U16s is currently underway in Melbourne.

Kicking off on Wednesday July 3 at the Home of the Matildas at Latrobe University, the six-day campaign will culminate on Monday July 8.

Players and officials from Football Australia’s nine state and territory member federations have gathered to compete, including the Invitational XI, a team composed of talented Indigenous players from across Australia.

And with that some teams feature young Greek girls hoping to one day become the next football stars of Australia.

Some of the names playing are Zoe Panagopoulos (NSW Metro), Nikki Kastanos (South Australia), Alexis Pantazopoulos, Anastasia Kyriacou, Teah Kotsandis, Alice Francou and Stephanie Katsikis (all playing for Victoria teams).
