Socceroos head coach Graham Arnold has named a nearly full-strength squad for Australia’s World Cup qualifiers next month, but it will wreak havoc with the A-League Finals series with a full ten players called up from the domestic competition.
The Socceroos are meeting in Kuwait ahead of qualifiers against Nepal, Taiwan, Jordan and Kuwait for Qatar 2022 early next month.
Arnold’s extended 31-man squad includes 10 A-League players as well as a full SEVEN uncapped talents, with a large squad selected to manage a hectic schedule of four games in 12 days.
But superstars Tom Rogic and Aaron Mooy have both been left out, for injury and family reasons respectively.
