The Australia Cup 2022 is up to the quarter-final stage after a dramatic round of 16.
Both the reigning A-League Men premiers and champions, Melbourne City and Western United, were knocked out of the competition as 16 teams were slimmed down to eight.
Fellow ALM sides Adelaide United and Brisbane Roar also only managed to progress after penalty shootout wins over NPL opposition.
There will be an NPL cub in the Australia Cup semi-finals in 2022 after Peninsula Power and Sydney United were drawn against each other in the quarter-finals.
