Scott Pendlebury interview, Collingwood contract, Nick Riewoldt, Fremantle

Former St Kilda captain Nick Riewoldt says Scott Pendlebury used “language that was beneath him” when the Collingwood skipper invited opposition clubs to make their pitch for his services.

Pendlebury remains uncontracted beyond 2021, with the Magpies offering him a one-year playing deal to remain at the club.

While stressing he hadn’t spoken with other clubs and his want to “be a one-club player”, Pendlebury on Sunday said at some point he would “like to step away from that football club (Collingwood) and get some experience elsewhere”.

“I’ve been on record saying I really do want to be a one-club player. Hopefully we nut something out soon … but if they (other clubs) want to offer me future coaching gigs for a couple of years’ time, I’ll have a look at it,”…
