Wallabies World Cup-winner Andrew Blades new NSW Waratahs director of rugby, Super Rugby

The Waratahs’ rebuilding mission is gathering pace, with former World Cup-winner and Wallabies assistant Andrew Blades to be announced as their Director of Rugby.

Blades is expected to be announced as early as Tuesday in his new role, where he will work alongside recently appointed head coach Darren Coleman.

It’s the latest piece of the jigsaw puzzle for the Waratahs, who went winless from 13 matches in 2021.

It is understood Coleman has kept assistant coaches Jason Gilmore (defence) and Chris Whitaker (attack) for next year, with the duo previously stepping up as co-head coaches after Rob Penney’s sacking earlier this year.
