Wallabies 2021, rugby Australia news, Bledisloe Cup, Giteau Law scrapped, selection, Dave Rennie,

In one of the biggest – and most important – decisions in Australian rugby, the ‘Giteau Law’ is set to be scrapped moving forward.

In its place, Rugby Australia is set to expand its eligibility laws to broaden its pool of players by allowing Dave Rennie to hand select players for the Wallabies regardless of where they play.

“We’re not at full strength and until we can find a way to get the likes of Will Skelton and Rory Arnold into the team we’re going to struggle,” RA Chairman Hamish McLennan told Fox Sports.

“The turnaround of rugby in Australia is a multi-pronged, multi-year strategy and it will take time to get grassroots through to the Wallabies firing and we have to stop the player drain to overseas.”
